The SPE-KSU student chapter is a member of the international SPE and SPE-KSA in Dhahran. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a global non-profit technical and professional organization. The SPE-KSU student chapter was established in 2002 to improve SPE student membership and future Saudi Arabia Section membership. The main objectives of the SPE-KSU chapter is to improve the knowledge of students in the oil and gas sectors through different activities such as seminars, meetings and field trips to the oil and gas industry, to establish communication with oil and gas industry, to strengthen the relations with other SPE chapters especially in the Gulf countries, to encourage faculty member to participate in national and international SPE conferences and also to provide information related to petroleum and gas engineering science for interested individuals on our chapter.
Additionally, the SPE-KSU assists and provides support to the annual SPE technical symposium, which is organized by the SPE-KSA in Dhahran (www.speksa.org)
